Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gauge Faces – KM/H to MPH Conversion – Light Gray

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gauge Faces – KM/H to MPH Conversion | US-Spec

Convert your European-spec Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG instrument cluster to US-spec MPH without recalibration or electronic modifications.

Importing a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG from Europe to the United States? One of the challenges is converting the original metric instrument cluster to a US-spec display.Unlike many other vehicles, the Mercedes SLS AMG has a significant difference between the European KM/H and American MPH speedometer layouts. The needle sweep and calibration are different, meaning you cannot simply install an original US-spec MPH dial onto a European KM/H cluster and expect the speedometer to read correctly.

That’s exactly the problem we’ve solved. Our specially engineered Mercedes SLS AMG KM/H to MPH conversion gauge faces are designed specifically for European-spec instrument clusters. They provide an American-style speedometer layout while retaining the original metric cluster’s needle movement and calibration.

No cluster recalibration. No ECU coding. No electronic modifications required for the dial conversion.

Designed Specifically for European KM/H Clusters

A conventional OEM US-spec speedometer face is not a direct replacement for the European SLS AMG speedometer. Because the KM/H and MPH versions use different needle sweep characteristics, simply swapping the dial faces results in incorrect speed readings. We have redesigned the speedometer markings to compensate for this difference.

Our conversion faces are engineered around the original European speedometer needle sweep, allowing the cluster to display MPH correctly without changing its internal calibration. This makes them particularly useful for imported Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG vehicles that need an MPH speedometer while retaining their original European instrument cluster.

Full US-Spec Instrument Cluster Conversion

Our conversion set goes beyond simply changing KM/H to MPH. We have also adapted the warning indicators and temperature markings to better match the American-market dashboard configuration.

1. KM/H to MPH Speedometer Conversion

The speedometer is redesigned to display miles per hour instead of kilometers per hour. Unlike a standard US-spec replacement dial, our conversion maintains compatibility with the original European needle sweep.

• MPH markings designed for the original KM/H cluster
• No speedometer recalibration required
• No replacement instrument cluster necessary
• No electronic modifications needed for the dial conversion

2. US-Spec BRAKE Warning Indicator

European Mercedes SLS AMG clusters use the familiar (!) brake warning symbol. For our US-spec conversion, we’ve replaced this marking with the BRAKE warning text used in American-market vehicles. This detail is particularly important for owners preparing imported cars for US registration and compliance inspections, where the required brake warning identification may be checked.

3. Celsius to Fahrenheit Temperature Conversion

We’ve also converted the original Celsius temperature scale to Fahrenheit (°F). This completes the visual conversion to American-style dashboard units, providing a more familiar driving experience for US owners.

Features & Benefits

• Purpose-Built for KM/H Clusters: Specifically designed for European-spec Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG instrument clusters.
• Accurate MPH Conversion: Redesigned speedometer markings compensate for the different European needle sweep.
• No Recalibration Required: Retains the original speedometer calibration and mechanical needle movement.
• US-Spec BRAKE Indicator: Replaces the European brake warning symbol with American-style BRAKE lettering.
• Fahrenheit Temperature Scale: Converts the printed temperature markings from Celsius to Fahrenheit.
• OEM-Inspired Appearance: Designed to preserve the original Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG instrument cluster aesthetics.
• Complete Replacement Gauge Faces: These are replacement dial faces, not stickers or overlays.
• Ideal for Imported Cars: An excellent solution for owners converting European-market SLS AMG vehicles for use in the United States.

Perfect for European Mercedes SLS AMG Imports

Importing a European Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG into the United States can involve several instrument-related requirements. Our conversion gauge faces address three important differences between European and American instrument displays:

1. Speedometer units: KM/H → MPH
2. Brake warning marking: (!) → BRAKE
3. Temperature scale: °C → °F

By addressing these differences, our replacement dial faces can help owners prepare their vehicles for applicable US instrument-display requirements without replacing the entire dashboard cluster.
