A Story About Our 356-Inspired Design

How Customers Help Us To Progress

This article is dedicated to our customers who help us grow and improve.

Some time ago, we had a request from a client who wanted to make a retro gauge face for his Porsche like in Porsche Classic models. We pitched in with pleasure. He liked the gauge face of Porsche 356 and shared his ideas, offering to change the following details.

As we unfolded the pages of his vision, it was clear; he yearned for the elegance, the simplicity and the iconic silhouette that made the Porsche 356 a legend.

Customer’s Inspiration

A Retro Icon: Porsche 356

The Porsche 356 is Porsche’s first production automobile, a lightweight and nimble-handling two-door car, available in both hardtop coupé and open configurations. It features a rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive design. The engineering innovations implemented during its years of manufacture significantly contributed to its success in motorsports and overall popularity.

Production commenced in 1948 at Gmünd, Austria, where Porsche built around 50 cars. In 1950, the factory moved to Zuffenhausen, Germany. Despite the debut of the replacement model 911 in September 1964, general production of the 356 continued until April 1965. Out of the initial 76,000 units produced, approximately half have survived to this day.

Our Result

With the client’s blueprint in hand, our design team dived into the intricacies of the 356’s aesthetic. Brainstorming, sketching, and revisions ensued.

The challenge was to encapsulate the essence of a classic while injecting a modern touch that resonated with the contemporary driver. It wasn’t just about replicating; it was about evolution and refinement.

After several rounds of refining and revising, we unveiled the design that truly captured our client’s heart. The contours, the lines, and every meticulous detail spoke volumes about the dedication we poured into this project.

This is how the history of our 356-Inspired Design began

Then we moved further and refined our design even more, using the same font as in the air-cooled models with ‘UPM x 100 PPM’ instead of RPM instead of ‘1/min x 1000 RPM’.

Our exquisite design has been favored by many customers. Here is another example of our 356-Inspired Design.

As we drive into the future with the echoes of the past, the 356-Inspired Design stands as a living testament to the magic that happens when dreams steer the wheel of craftsmanship.
